Come by boat, plane or car to the 4th Annual Chesapeake Bay Wine
Festival May 14 and 15, 2011. Join us as we kick off the season at our new venue, the Bay Bridge Marina near Hemingway’s Restaurant. This beautiful and scenic venue is the perfect place to spend your weekend, tasting wines from all over the world.
“We are excited this year’s wine festival is being held at the Bay Bridge Marina, welcoming the local community and travelers alike, to enjoy a weekend on the Chesapeake Bay,” says Becky Groff, from Inspired Events, the event’s planner and promoter. The Bay Bridge Marina is conveniently located by taking the first exit coming off of the Bay Bridge. A great stop for weekend travelers heading to the Eastern Shore. If you are interested in traveling by boat, the Bay Bridge Marina will have transient slips available as well as overnight stay (call 410.643.3162 for overnight rates).
The venue is one of many exciting changes the event will boast this year. You will now have the opportunity to taste exceptional international wines in addition to some of your local favorites. You will be able to visit the Maryland Tent featuring wineries such as Mark Cascia’s Vineyards, St. Michaels Winery, Layton’s Chance Winery, Cove Point Winery, plus more. The event will also offer international wines carefully chosen by local wine experts and selected micro-brews for our beer aficionados. According to Jen DiDonato of the Winery in Chester, Maryland, “The Winery is thrilled to be participating in the Wine Festival this year. We are especially excited to showcase a few of our 140 craft beers including Evolution, Flying Dog, Heavy Seas, Southern Tier & Troegs. This year’s show presents a unique opportunity for both wine and beer lovers alike.” The event is also offering live music, local cuisine and arts and craft vendors, all weekend.
The 2011 Chesapeake Bay is being planned and promoted by Inspired Events for the 4th year. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Foundation for Community Partnerships and purchasing Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) for local sporting fields. In addition, the Arundel House of Hope and Special Olympics of Maryland.
