New Docent Training

If you enjoy meeting new people and want to share the story of Talbot County’s history, being a docent might be just the thing for you.  The Historical Society of Talbot County will be accepting new volunteer docents to give tours of the historic homes on their property in Easton.

No previous knowledge or experience is required.  The Historical Society will provide all training materials. Docents will learn about the three homes on the museum’s property:  Joseph’s Cottage  (1795), James Neall’s House  (1805), and Forman’s Studio  (replica colonial home).  Training will also include information about how to give engaging tours to visitors.

Training sessions will be held in March on Friday March 5 and Saturday March 20.  Each session will meet at 11 am for approximately 2 hours.  Volunteers can attend either date.  Training can be arranged at other times if necessary.

Join the fun of introducing visitors to the charm of  Talbot County.  To register or ask any questions, please contact Beth Hansen at or 410-822-0773.
