Frank C. Ogens appears to be the likely winner in last week’s Centreville municipal election. The incumbent council president faced two challengers in the bid to retain his seat, but after election commissioners counted ballots cast by voters at the Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company, they determined that Ogens, a teacher at Kent County High School, emerged the unofficial victor. Ogens, who lives in Symphony Village, received 197 of the votes cast at the fire company, while fellow Symphony Village resident Jack Dedrick received 158 votes and Liberty Street resident Bob Suling received 137. Thirty nine absentee ballots as well as 14 provisional ballots remain to be verified as valid and counted.
