Our Town Cast (400 x 286)The Wye Operetta Workshop is excitedly preparing for its coming performances.  Held during Easton’s Plein Air Festival, this year the ensemble is performing Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.  The Wye Operetta Workshop, or WOW!, is an annual summer program that is free to its participants, and open to all young adults, grades 8 through college.  With each year, the cast is coached in acting, professionally staged, costumed, and always met with a full audience.  Past WOW! performances include Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe, Pirates of Penzance, and H.M.S. Pinafore.  WOW! is directed by Bonnie Forgacs of Denton, MD.  Ms. Forgacs is a graduate of Curtis Institute of Music, and has 24 opera roles in her repertoire, including a debut performance at Carnegie Hall with the Opera Orchestra of New York.

Our Town performances are held at Easton’s Historic Avalon Theatre Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th at 7:30pm, and Sunday, July 21st at 4pm.  The cost of admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students; tickets will be sold upon arrival at the Avalon Theatre.  All performances are handicap accessible.
