Camp set-up and registration begins at 7:00pm, and a vareity of activies are schedule for the remainder of the evening including a campfire, night hike and animal show. While hiking the trails, you will encounter ecosystems and their natural complement of plants and animals that are specific to many different regions of the Eastern Shore. Before heading off to bed underneath the stars, a nature movie will be shown in our education center. In the morning, participants can enjoy breakfast before heading out with Adrenaline High, Inc. for a 1.5-hour long kayak trip on Wetipquin Creek. Get a chance to view Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles and more! The cost per family is $95 and is all inclusive.
Pemberton Historical Park is located at 5561 Plantation Lane in Salisbury, MD. Aside from its environmental beauty, the park is also rich with history. Located on the property is Pemberton Hall, which was built by Isaac Handy and his wife Anne (Dashiell) in 174. The home and plantation was one of the first established in Wicomico County and the Hall has been restored by its present owner, Pemberton Hall Foundation. Exhibits are rotated on an annual basis and feature historic displays of items indigenous to Wicomico County and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Tours are held on Sundays from 2-4 pm from May 1 – October 1 and by appointment.
