Photography has changed dramatically since the Eastman Kodak Company introduced an affordable, point-and-shoot, hand-held camera, called the Brownie, in 1900. What hasn’t changed is the importance of quality photography for businesses and organizations as well as individuals and families. Business owners Michael and Peggy Ford of Chester live their belief in the power of photography as they expand their business here on the Shore.
Although the Fords have been working on the Delmarva Peninsula since they founded their business in 1991, they have been working on the Shore for nearly 10 years and recently officially became residents. “We feel as though we are long time residents at this point,” jokes Michael Ford. “We have done location work at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum and some commercial work in Queenstown and other areas like Annapolis as well,” he adds. “We immediately embraced the Eastern Shore when we began visiting our daughter and her family over the past several years and knew the next step would be to call the Shore our home and expand our business here as well,” says Peggy Ford.
Montgomery Ford Photography specializes creating “signature” images for their clients, an approach that not only documents or records the shot, but also demonstrates a unique understanding of the subject matter through photography. Their work is displayed in businesses, organizations and homes throughout the United States, including Washington, D.C., Maryland and Delaware, as well as the Virgin Islands and Mexico.
Services include onsite portrait photography, commercial photography for businesses, and special event photography for business and individuals. Michael Ford earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in Photography from the University of Delaware. Both Michael and Peggy Ford advance their education by taking continuing educations classes to refine their photographic skills so they can offer their clients the most up to update photographic techniques and services.
