Exciting updates are in the works for the 8th Annual Plein Air–Easton! Competition & Arts Festival, to be held July 14-22, 2012. The Competition Prospectus, which outlines the competition guidelines, is now available on the event website, www.pleinaireaston.com.
The spontaneous and exciting art form of plein air painting—where artists leave their studios to paint “in the moment” outdoors—is experiencing a robust revival that has spurred a new art movement. America has caught plein air fever, with plein air events and artists groups emerging from coast to coast. Amidst this emergence, Plein Air–Easton! is a national hot spot, having established itself as the country’s premier plein air festival.
Artists, art collectors, art and nature enthusiasts, students, tourists, local businesses, and spectators alike have discovered that this event truly lives up to its slogan of offering “Art for Everyone.” Plein Air–Easton! has become one of Easton’s largest events. Over the past seven years, Plein Air–Easton! has attracted tens of thousands of visitors and consistently posted impressive figures for art sales. In 2012, competition artists will vie for $20,000 in prizes.
