Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association will join the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council on Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. when the “Art of the Deals” returns to Centreville, Maryland. In its fifth year, the event takes place at the historic courthouse square. Artists, non-profit groups, civic associations and local farmers set up shop for the day providing opportunities for shoppers, art lovers and visitors to enjoy downtown.
Members of the Plein Air Association will be found around town capturing landscapes, skyscapes, and buildings on canvas and paper. At 2 p.m. the artists will gather on the square, and offer their original creations for sale to the public.
In addition to activities on the courthouse green, downtown merchants are also enticing visitors with discounts and specials. Hosted by the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council, and supported through a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, this is a family friendly day that encourages people to learn more about, and enjoy the richness of, our local resources. Offices and auditorium are located at 206 South Commerce St. in Centreville, MD. Summer office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 1pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
