At 0922 Hours this morning a white male entered the PNC Bank located in Chester and presented a hand written note to one of the tellers demanding money. The suspect then reached over the counter, grabbed the money from the teller and fled the bank on foot. He was last seen on South Piney Creek Road going towards Rt. 18.

QA Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police responded to the location. Additional units responded to begin a search for the subject as well as contacting area banks. One of the Sheriff’s Office K9 Units also responded and began a track of the suspect which ended in a parking lot a short distance away.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the incident. No bank employees were injured in the robbery however the bank was closed for several hours while investigators were interviewing employees and the scene was being processed.
