If some Ocean City residents get their way, smokers who visit the beach will have to leave their cigarettes behind. The City Council is being asked to outlaw smoking on the beach and the boardwalk. A public hearing is planned, and it may end up going to voters. Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan says it is important to hear the views of both the community and property owners who do not live in the city.
