INCIDENT: Theft from Vehicle

DATE / TIME: 12/08/2013 @ 0959 Hours

LOCATION: 400 Block of Tower Gardens, Stevensville

VICTIM: Christopher C. Mahaffey of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE: Victim reported between Friday evening to Saturday morning, someone entered his unlocked Honda van and removed his Garmin nuvi GPS unit valued at $150.

INCIDENT: Theft

DATE / TIME: 12/09/2013 @ 0914 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION: 6502 Church Hill Road, Chestertown, MD

VICTIM: Royal Farms Store

 

NARRATIVE: Store employees reported that a clerk working at midnight had received a call from a male subject advising he was from the Corporate Office advising the clerk that the satellites were down and needed her assistance. The caller had the clerk check several items for pricing and if the correct taxes were applied. After that the caller had the clerk ring up a lighter and then do a refund and to keep both receipts. The caller then had the clerk ring up several gift cards and then to refund the amounts. When unable to do the refunds, the caller advised to staple the receipts to the cards and he would email the manager regarding the transactions. Upon balancing out the night shift, the manager found a negative balance and contacted the District Leader and was told to report the incident to police. The store’s loss exceeded over $2000.

INCIDENT: Theft

LOCATION: 3700 Main Street, Grasonville

VICTIM: Berrang Family Motors

 

NARRATIVE: Michael Berrang reported that someone had broken the driver’s window on a white GMC Van on his lot. Further inspection showed that the battery had been stolen from the van. Damages and loss was estimated at $200.

INCIDENT: Burglary

DATE / TIME: 12/09/2013 @ 1231 Hours

LOCATION: 500 Block of Round Top Road, Chestertown (QA)

VICTIM: Marjoria Johnson of Chestertown

 

NARRATIVE: Victim reported her son had arrived home and found the rear door to the residence open. Once inside the house several jewelry boxes were out of place and called his parents, who in turn call the Sheriff’s Office. A more detailed check showed that seven gold bracelets, a mother’s ring with three stones and some cash was missing. The loss was estimated at $3600.

DATE / TIME: 12/10/2013 @ 1115 Hours

LOCATION: Aukland Way, Chester, MD

 

NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to the residence for a reported domestic between a mother and her 22 year old daughter. On arrival it was learned the argument was over medical bills and cleaning a bedroom. Neither party wanted charges and the daughter left to stay at a relatives.

DATE / TIME: 12/10/2013 @ 1210 Hours

LOCATION: 101 VFW Avenue, Grasonville

VICTIM: Female (45) of Grasonville

 

NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to the Sleep Inn for a reported disturbance. On arrival Hotel Staff advised there was an intoxicated female who refused to leave. Contact was made with the woman who was irate and emotional, advised she had nowhere to go and wanted to be dead. Subject was taken into custody and transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center for assistance.

LOCATION: 415 Batts Neck, Stevensville

VICTIM: Chesapeake Bay Piranhas

 

NARRATIVE: Jeffrey Eckardt reported finding one of the sheds used by the Piranhas’ at Batts Neck Park had been broken into. A case of Gatorade, two cases of soda and two blankets was missing. Items were valued under $100.

INCIDENT: Assault 2nd Degree / MDOP

DATE / TIME: 12/10/2013 @ 1942 Hours

LOCATION: Sherman Way, Chester

VICTIM: Brittany Johnson of Chester

Terry Paddy of Chester

Amanda Cooper of Chester

ARREST: Michele Anne Slay (41) of Grasonville

CHARGE: Assault 2nd Degree – MDOP – Trespassing

 

NARRATIVE: Amanda Cooper had given the suspect (Slay) a ride to Sherman Way. A short time later, Ms. Slay wanted to leave, however Ms. Cooper’s car had overheated. Ms. Cooper went to a neighbor to see if they would take Ms. Slay to Grasonville, Ms. Slay showed up at the door demanding to be let in due to the cold. As soon as she was inside she began to swing her fists striking Ms. Johnson and Ms. Paddy. The three women then were able to force Slay from the residence. Once outside, Slay then began to destroy several Christmas decorations.

 

Slay was located in the parking lot of Sherman Way and placed under arrest. A district Court Commissioner held her on a $5000. At a bail review the following day she was released on her own recognizance.

DATE / TIME: 12/11/2013 @ 1230 Hours

LOCATION: Goodhand Creek Road, Chester

VICTIM: Tracey Schulz of Chester

Jody Schulz of Grasonville

Bruce Leverton of Queenstown

ARREST: Male (17) from Queen Anne’s County

CHARGE: MDOP to Cultivated Fields

 

NARRATIVE: Sgt. Johnston while on patrol observed fresh damage to a field on Goodhand Creek Road which appeared to have been done by a vehicle “4 wheeling”. He then went to Kent Island High School and found a vehicle with a large amount of fresh mud. As school let out, Sgt. Johnston contacted the male getting into the vehicle. The juvenile advised he and friends had been four wheeling at three different farm field, one near the Queen Anne’s Emergency Room, a second on Love Point Road and then on Goodhand Creek Road. The owners were contacted and the estimated damage to the three fields was $1700.

 

The male was referred to Juvenile Justice and released to a parent.

NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to a report of a female looking for her gun to harm herself. She was taken into custody and transported by ambulance to Easton Memorial.

DATE / TIME: 12/12/2013 @ 0015 Hours

LOCATION: Burger King Parking Lot, Chester

VICTIM: Shane H. Bradfield of Chester

 

NARRATIVE: Victim advised his brother and a friend were being harassed by several subjects in the parking lot and he attempted to intervene. About that time a larger white male exited the passenger seat of a small red sports car and punched the victim numerous times in the face then fled the scene. The victim was transported to the Queen Anne’s Emergency Room for non-life threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.

LOCATION: 200 Kent Landing, Stevensville

VICTIM: K Mart

ARREST: Male (16) From Queen Anne’s County

CHARGE: Theft under $100

 

NARRATIVE: Store Security reported that the male had been observed taking gum and two shirts then concealing them in another stores bag. As he attempted to leave he was stopped and returned to the store. He was referred to Juvenile Justice and released to a family member.
