On June 5, 2012 the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff received an anonymous complaint of someone possibly searching for child pornography on a computer at the Centreville Branch of the Queen Anne’s County Public Library. The anonymous complaint reported that Jeffrey Goad was using a public access computer in the library to look up images of possible child pornography. D/Cpl. S. A search warrant was obtained for Goad’s personal items and the search warrant was executed on June 11, 2012 which resulted in the seizure of seven photographs and two videos containing suspected child pornography.
On June 18, 2012 Jeffrey Anthony Goad turned himself into the Office of the Sheriff to be served with an arrest warrant from the Maryland Department of Parole and Probation and a second arrest warrant through the Queen Anne’s County District Court for the images and videos of suspected child pornography.
