The Family Center QAC Character CountsQAC CHARACTER COUNTS! IN SEARCH OF PEER MENTORS FOR THE FAMILY CENTER IN SUDLERSVILLE

Character Counts! in Queen Anne’s County is designed to connect caring adults with members of the community including those found at the Family Center located at 103 North Linden Street in Sudlersville. A Volunteer Peer Mentor is needed- one Monday per month between 9 am- 11 am, for 1 – 1.5 hours.

Peer mentoring is intended to assist parents with instilling and translating the 6 pillars; including Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship into practical techniques and practices for child rearing in children age 3 and under. The goal is to build a dependable, supportive, and positive relationship among all participants in the group.

The mission of the Family Center is to empower and encourage families to reach their highest potential and to provide their children with high quality care and the best start in their young life. To enable school readiness, successful families and prosperous communities! In addition to being a partners of Character Counts! Part of the QAC Local Management Board, Community Partnerships for Children and Families, The Center is a Judy Center Partner, sponsored by QAC Board of Education. They offer quality programming for all families expecting a baby or with a child 3 years of age and younger with no income eligibility or fees required.

Economists agree there is NO greater investment for the dollar than in high quality programs for young children and their families!
