QAC Community Partnership for Children & Families Announces Understanding the Teen Brain Workshop

Give a Fish a Bath: The Untold Story of the Adolescent Mind will be presented by Frank Kros from the Upside Down Organization, Towson Maryland. Have you ever said “What were you thinking” to an adolescent? How does a teen really think? Why are teens especially vulnerable to drug use, high-risk peer influences and depression? Then this workshop is for you. Come find out some proactive measures that adults can take to minimize a teen’s exposure to these dangers and really understand what is really going on in an adolescent’s brain.

Training will take place on April 19th at Centreville Elementary School in the cafeteria. Time is 6:00-8:00 PM. Cost is free. The training is open to all individuals who live with, work with and teach adolescents.

Registration is required. Please call Jacki Carter at 410-758-6677 or email jcarter@qac.org to reserve your place at the training. This training is funded through the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention’s Edward J. Byrne Justice Assistance Grant.

To understand is the pathway to helping teens make positive choices.
