QAC Homemakers Organization

The QAC Homemakers organization is headed by the QAC Homemakers’ County Council and consists of six individual clubs. All clubs are very active in the Home Arts Department of the County Fair and also contribute in some way to community needs. Last year our focus was on supporting local food pantries and this year we are focusing on support for Crossroads Community, Inc., and the school back pack program. In addition, our club contributes regularly to the Mid Shore Council on Family Violence as well as other areas of need on occasion.

The County Council plans two luncheons per year which include all members of all clubs. We have a business meeting and an invited speaker. Our first luncheon for 2011 will be this Tuesday, April 12, and will be held at the New Life Community United Methodist Church, 413 South Liberty Street in Centreville. Our speaker will be J.R. Russum, who will speak about antiques and will be appraising items for our members. Lunch will follow Mr. Russum’s presentation which is scheduled for 10:30. Our Fall luncheon will be held at the Centreville United Methodist Church on Nov. 9 and will be a celebration of our 75th year.
