Queen Anne’s County Library is pleased to announce the acquisition of MUZZY BBC for the library’s children’s collection. Developed by the British Broadcasting Corporation, MUZZY BBC has helped children become bilingual for over 30 years. Now reimagined for a new generation with 3-D graphics and an expanded video story, MUZZY immerses children in the new language, replicating the way the child learned his or her mother tongue. As youngsters watch a captivating video story about the extraterrestrial Muzzy and his friends, they are exposed to over 1200 words and phrases. Online games, a recording studio, and other activities contribute to the learning, and make language fun for children as young as two. For instructions on accessing MUZZY, please speak to a library staff member or visit the library website.

Digital magazines are now available through the library’s OverDrive collection. This new collection of fifty popular magazine titles can be enjoyed both in the Libby app and online on any internet capable device. No additional software, apps, or account signups are required. The magazines are always available, and patrons can check out as many titles as they like, because they don’t count towards the six item OverDrive borrowing limit.

For more information on these or any of the library’s online resources, please contact the Centreville Branch at 410-758-0980 or the Kent Island Branch at 410-643-8161.
