The Queen Anne’s County Mental Health Committee (QACMHC) is accepting applications for its 2017 grants. QACMHC grants provide gap-filling funds to non-profit organizations that provide services to Queen Anne’s County citizens who need assistance with management of their mental health illnesses.
Grant applications are due by September 15, 2017, and grants will be awarded by November 3, 2017.
In 2016, QACMHC awarded $29,500 in grants to Crossroads Community Inc., Eastern Shore Hospital Center Auxiliary, Haven Ministries, QAC Social Services Department’s Nurturing Program, Talisman Therapeutic Riding, Compass Regional Hospice, and QAC Department of Health’s Healthy Families Program.
QACMHC was established in the 1986 by Lynette Nielsen who realized that local mental health programs needed access to additional funds to serve the needs of their patients. It is in this spirit that the current dedicated volunteers of QACMHC continue this mission by holding fundraisers and soliciting donations from individuals and businesses to help provide and enhance mental health services for the residents of Queen Anne’s County.
QACMHC is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax deductible. The organization’s next fundraiser―Spurs & Spirits Barn Party―is scheduled for October 21 in Centreville. Tickets can be purchased at QACMHC.org.
