On Monday, August 11, 2025 Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) proudly welcomed 28 new educators during a day-long orientation designed to introduce them to the district’s mission, leadership, and community.

The day began at the Queen Anne’s County Board of Education headquarters with a welcome breakfast, giving new hires an opportunity to meet colleagues and prepare for the upcoming year.  Dr. Matthew Kibler, Interim Superintendent, opened the program with a warm welcome and introductions of Board of Education members President Shannon Bent and Vice President Alexis Capes, the Executive Team, Sheriff Hofmann, Melinda Ray, Character Counts Coordinator, school administrators, and supervisors.

The 2025–2026 QACPS Teacher of the Year, Ms. Marcie Mamas, shared an inspiring message with the group before they embarked on a Schools and Communities Bus Tour. The bus tours provided new educators with valuable insight into the diverse communities they will serve.

QACPS would like to thank Chick-fil-A on Kent Island for sponsoring Monday’s luncheon for new educators. 

“Welcoming new educators is one of the most important things we do each year,” said Dr. Kibler. “These talented professionals will shape the future of our students, and we are excited to support them from day one.”

For the remainder of the week, new educators met with their supervisors for content meetings, decorated their new classrooms, and received technology training on QACPS’ various platforms. 

QACPS extends a warm welcome to all new team members and looks forward to a successful 2025–2026 school year.
