QASO Drug Bust

An initial report of a suicidal person led the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office to two arrests and the seizure of more than $20,000 worth of drugs and over $11,000 in cash in Grasonville on February 18. Police were called to a home on Maple Drive after receiving a report of a possibly suicidal person holding a gun. While trying to determine that person’s condition, Sgt. Morris Jones and Dfc. George Sewell saw drugs and a digital scale sitting in plain view and applied for and received a search warrant, police said.

The release said that a search of the residence revealed approximately 445.0 grams of marijuana, 118.8 grams of powdered cocaine, a .45 caliber handgun with the serial numbers removed, $11,359 in U.S. currency, numerous digital scales, cutting agents and evidence of a complex drug distribution operation. The total estimated street value of the marijuana and cocaine was more than $20,000, police said. A 2008 Honda Accord and a Yamaha 4-wheeler were also seized.

Christopher Alan Seligman, 26 of Annapolis, and Colby Rae Silver, 25 of Harwood, were both arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in nexus to a drug crime and possession of paraphernalia. Seligman is being held at Queen Anne’s County Detention Center on $150,000 bond. Silver posted $10,000 bond and was released on February 19. A preliminary hearing in Queen Anne’s County District Court is set for March 18.
