The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are announcing upcoming changes to their meeting schedule that will improve the efficiency of County operations while continuing to provide opportunities for public participation.
The County Commissioners meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. The change is necessary due to the Maryland Primary Election taking place on June 23. The meeting will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at 107 N. Liberty Street in Centreville.
Beginning July 14, 2026, the County Commissioners will transition to a new regular meeting schedule. Meetings that are held on the second Tuesday of each month, will now be held during business hours and begin at 8:30 a.m. On the fourth Tuesday of each month, meetings will remain during the evening and continue to start at 5:30 p.m.
The revised schedule is designed to better align County business with normal operating hours. Daytime meetings will focus on routine County business, departmental updates, staff presentations, and administrative matters. Holding these discussions during the workday allows County staff to participate as part of their regular duties, reducing overtime costs and improving operational efficiency.
Evening meetings will continue to serve as the primary venue for public hearings, major presentations, and other topics that are expected to generate significant public interest. This approach ensures that residents continue to have meaningful opportunities to attend meetings, provide input, and participate in the local decision-making process.
All meetings will remain open to the public and will continue to be livestreamed and archived by QACTV. Meeting agendas, supporting documents, and video recordings will remain available online. A virtual option will still be available for both meetings to allow for additional participation.
