Ready, Set, Go! Adkins Arbor Day 5K Draws Runners from Across the Region

Sixteen-year-old Colin Quinn makes tracks during Adkins Arboretum’s seventh annual Arbor Day Run, Sat., April 7. Quinn, of Centreville, placed first in the men’s 16 to 29 category and finished third overall. Participants of all ages turned out to catch glimpses of spring on a 5K run, kids’ 100-yard dash, and one-mile family fun run/walk. Awards were presented in all classes, and 5K runners received a white oak sapling, the Arboretum’s 2012 Native Tree of the Year.
