Join Chesapeake College and the Tidewater Chapter – MD International Association of Administrative Professionals ® (IAAP) to celebrate National Administrative Professionals Day on Friday, April 23rd from 8:15 am – 3:30 pm.
The day’s breakout sessions focus on ways career-minded administrative professionals can position themselves for success in today’s ever-changing business environment and take charge of their own career development! Themes for this year’s breakout sessions include harnessing the power of social media to grow your business, essential skills to make yourself recession-proof in your career, managing your finances during troubled times, website basics, workplace mediation, and creating a Facebook page to market your business. Some lighter topics for the day include exploring the haunted Eastern Shore, eating habits for a healthy lifestyle, deciphering the symbolic meaning of historic documents, and journeying back in time on the Underground Railroad of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Back this year due to popular demand is keynote speaker Emily Ellis, former Vice President of Gaylord Entertainment. Ellis created the STAR culture of “service excellence” that has become a hallmark of the Gaylord Hotels brand. Prior to Gaylord, Ellis was an executive with the Walt Disney Company.
