The Combsberry Inn in Oxford, an elegantly restored 1730 English country mansion, carriage house and cottage on 10 lovely, secluded waterfront acres, offers a “Romance Package”.  Fresh flowers will greet you in the luxuriously decorated guest room of your choice, gourmet chocolates or a fruit & cheese tray and candles, all for $60 above the room rate. The Old Brick Inn, made up of three separate buildings in the heart of St. Michaels, offers several winter specials.  The “Lovers Retreat Getaway” includes two nights and three days in a premiere or platinum room, one dinner for two at 208 Talbot Restaurant, a gift certificate to one of three other St. Michaels restaurants, Two tickets to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, a bottle of wine or champagne and chocolates, two one-hour massages in your room and a complimentary romantic movie.  Midweek:  $610 plus tax in a premier Room, $710 in Platinum room.  A one-night midweek stay is $100 less.  Weekend: $810 plus tax for Premiere or Platinum Room.  Also available is a “2 Night ‘Wine and Dine’ Special”.  Two nights of relaxation with dinner for two at 209 Talbot Restaurant one night, plus a dinner for two at one of three fine other restaurants in St. Michaels, two tickets to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, chocolates and a bottle of wine or champagne in your room each night.  Midweek: $590 all inclusive plus tax in Premiere Room, $690 in Platinum Room.  Weekend price: $790 all inclusive plus tax for Premier or Platinum Room.  If Valentine’s Day is the only time for a romantic getaway, The Old Brick Inn has a special from February 12-15:  “St. Michaels Winter Romance Weekend”.   This three day special (President’s Day is the day after Valentine’s Day this year) includes a massage for two in your suite, a bottle of quality wine and chocolates each evening before dining at one of three of St. Michaels restaurants, attendance at art shows at the inn and at other venues, a gourmet breakfast each morning, wine tasting in town, movies in your room, and a visit to the Maritime Museum.  Call the Inn to choose your room and get a special price for your getaway.

Easton’s Promise in Historic Downtown Easton has a “Special Romantic Package” where you’ll be greeted with specially selected hors d’oeuvres. In your room, the Governor’s Retreat, you’ll find fresh flowers and a plate of handmade chocolates and a romantic four-poster bed adorned with   rose petals.   In the morning breakfast will be brought to you to enjoy in the privately.  Every effort to will be made to fulfill special requests and make this a truly memorable occasion. Rate: $255 per night plus 10% tax.

The charming George Brooks House in St. Michaels has a “Winter Taste of St. Michaels” special with a two nights stay in a Queen room with a full breakfast, two tickets to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, A tour and tasting at a local winery and a $40 Dinner Certificate to Chesapeake Landing or Key Lime Café.  This special is only $299 including taxes Sunday through Thursday and only $339 on weekends (except Martin Luther King Day and Valentines weekend). An upgrade to a fireplace room for $30 additional or a King Jacuzzi room (call for upgrade price) will make this a truly romantic stay.

A “His ‘N’ Hers Romance Package” is featured at the Five Gables Inn & Spa, in St. Michaels with two nights’ accommodation, a relaxing herbal bath and 1-hour massage each and a wine and cheese basket.  Rates go from $505 to $755 midweek and $605-$855 weekends, depending on the room.  They also offer a “One-Night Escape Package” – massage and champagne, one night’s accommodation, a hour-hour massage each and, of course chocolates.  Available Sunday through Thursday only, excluding holidays for $330-425.

The Oaks,  “Winter Warm Up Package” offers a deluxe rooms, a delicious Winter Dinner Basket delivered to your door and a hot hearty breakfast after a good night’s rest – all for $200 a night plus tax.
