Chestertown RiverArts and the Chester River Association are partnering on several upcoming events. Thus, Marcy Dunn Ramsey, president of the Chester River Association and a very well-known artist in her own right is curating RiverArts’ November show, “Living River”. The theme of the show is the River, but the intent is to encourage artists to look at the River (any river or its tributaries and marshes) as more than just a pretty view. Artists are encouraged to use any medium to demonstrate the idea of the living, moving, breathing entity. Entries may be abstract or representational as long as they represent a very personal view of the relationship the artist shares with the river and what it means to them. The opening reception for the Living River is First Friday, November 1 from 5:00-8:00.
Check in for the show is on Sunday, October 27 from 1:00-3:00 and Monday, October 28 from 11:00-2:00 at RiverArts, 315 High Street, Suite 106. Artists may enter up to two pieces as long as space is available. All entries must be for sale. Members pay $8 for one or $15 for two pieces of art. Non-members pay $15/25. Pick up for the show is Sunday, December 1 from 1:00-3:00 or Monday, December 2 from 11:00-2:00.
