Terry Kidwell, General Manager of R’s Americantina Restaurant and bar says that the welcoming atmosphere and laid back environment helps R’s feel more like a neighborhood gathering place than a quick run in and eat restaurant. One of the things that sets R’s Americantina apart is their devotion to community service. “We have so many groups that come into do fundraisers here, from baseball teams, to cheerleaders, and recently a Breast Cancer Awareness group.”
R’s will also work with you to host a great gathering, whether it be a child’s birthday party, a cocktail party for the office or a more formal rehearsal dinner. They have large dining room but also have a smaller area that can be screened off for additional privacy and can accommodate small intimate gatherings as well as larger ones. Teri says she also likes to give guests the freedom to have the event they want to have. She can even help do the decorating! If you’re looking to host something at your home, R’s can provide on and off site catering, or you can pick up your buffet and all you have to do is set it out.
While Teri’s job encompasses a lot and can be stressful, she says the best part is getting to meet and mingle with the guests. She listens to their likes; take in their suggestions and over all tries to make them have the best experience possible while at the restaurant. As general manager, she also has to jump in wherever needed and you may see her bussing tables, helping behind the bar or helping seat or serve guests.
