September Proclaimed “United Fund of Talbot County” Month

At its September 13 meeting, the Talbot County Council designated September “United Fund of Talbot County” month.  Council member, Corey Peck, presented the official proclamation to Ann Jacobs, United Fund Executive Director, United Fund board members Joe Anthony, Pat Casgar, Chuck Mangold, Jr., Al Silverstein, Leslie Stevenson, and 2011-12 Campaign Chairman, Buck Duncan.

With the Fund’s annual appeal goal this year of $450,000, over 26,000 people will be helped through the programs and services delivered by 22 United Fund partner agencies, meeting the underfunded needs of people with medical needs, child care, crisis situations, character development, literacy, and youth mentoring. “The United Fund of Talbot County is not part of any national organization”, noted Ann Jacobs, Executive Director.  “We serve as the only local philanthropic organization to support many charities in Talbot County.”
