Shore Bancshares Congratulates Bruce Burkhardt for 40 Years of Service

BruceBurkhardtShore Bancshares, Inc. is pleased to recognize Bruce Burkhardt for 40 years of dedicated service.

Mr. Burkhardt joined The Talbot Bank, a member of Shore Bancshares community of companies, in 1974 as a management trainee.  He soon became the branch manager of the bank’s first branch, Tred Avon Square in Easton.  In later years, Mr. Burkhardt returned to the main Dover Street office where he held various positions in the lending and finance departments.  He was promoted to assistant vice president and later, vice president of operations.

When Talbot Bancshares, Inc. merged with Shore Bancshares, Inc., Mr. Burkhardt was asked to become a member of Shore Bancshares’ information technology department.  In this role, Mr. Burkhardt coordinates the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various information and communication systems for the Shore Bancshares headquarters and all affiliate company locations.

Mr. Burkhardt has always had an interest in electronics and “how things work.”  He’s been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1969 and had a commercial radiotelephone operator’s license.  “We value Bruce’s commitment and celebrate his 40 years of experience, professionalism, and contribution to the company and our community,” said Tim Berrigan, Shore Bancshares Chief Information Officer.  “We are pleased to have him as part of the Shore Bancshares team.”

Mr. Burkhardt is a graduate of Easton High School, Chesapeake College and the Maryland Banking School. He lives in Royal Oak with his wife Barbara.  They have two married sons, “JR” Burkhardt and wife, Carolanne and Matt Burkhardt and wife, Kristen, a granddaughter Kayleigh and a new grandson Adam.
