Shore Bancshares Employees Take Part In “Keep It Moving” Challenge

Throughout the late spring, employees of Shore Bancshares, Inc. and their family of companies (Avon-Dixon Agency, Freestate & Son, Elliott Wilson Insurance, Jack Martin Yacht Insurance, Talbot Bank, CNB, and Wye Financial & Trust) participated in an eight week health challenge. A total of 62 employees joined the “Keep It Moving” Challenge sponsored by the Shore Bancshares’ Wellness Committee.

The challenge was a friendly, company-wide competition for individuals who consistently recorded purposeful physical activity. The goal was to get up and be active for a sustained period each day at home, at work, or anywhere possible. “There never seems to be a perfect time to exercise. There may be many obstacles that side track you,” says Diana Johnson, VP Employee Benefits for The Avon-Dixon Agency. “We encouraged our participants to start with ten minute increments throughout the day which can be a bit more manageable than larger blocks of time. Even small amounts of physical activity can produce great benefits but the first step is to get moving.”

The participants who completed the challenge had their names entered into a drawing for one of three $100 Visa gift cards. The winners were Ronald Cannon, CNB Credit Analyst, Kelly Dickerson, CNB Compliance Officer, and Debbie Thomas, CNB Loan Services Representative. Shore Bancshares is committed to promoting a culture of wellness and healthy lifestyle practices to fellow employees through education, encouragement and self-participation. The Shore Wellness Committee consists of 10 employees who meet regularly to plan programs that support the wellness mission of Shore Bancshares.
