Shore Health System announces the opening of Shore Gynecology, the medical practice of Panayota Zarmakoupis, MD.  Dr. Zarmakoupis provides gynecological and infertility services at 401 Purdy Street, Suite 101 in Easton.  She is welcoming new patients.

Dr. Zarmakoupis joined the Shore Health System medical staff in 2009 and she has privileges to practice at the Memorial Hospital at Easton and Dorchester General Hospital.

After earning a medical degree from the National University of Athens in Greece, Dr. Zarmakoupis completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Winthrop-University Hospital in New York. She received her fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Dr. Zarmakoupis has authored and co-authored 45 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and 101 abstracts in national and international conferences.

After having her own private practice and in vitro fertilization center in Lexington, Kentucky for thirteen years, Dr. Zarmakoupis and her two daughters decided to relocate to the Eastern Shore. Her main interests include abnormal/heavy bleeding, menopause and adolescent gynecology, endometriosis and pelvic pain, operative laparoscopy, ultrasonography, irregular cycles and hirsutism, female sexual health, and all aspects of infertility including advanced ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination.
