On Saturday, May 14, volunteers from Shore Health System will be offering health information during the Chesapeake Heart Walk at Terrapin Park in Stevensville.
Heart walkers and their guests will find free information about heart health and cardiovascular fitness, including cardiovascular rehabilitation; healthy eating and nutrition; home emergency preparedness; digestive health; and physical therapy and medical rehabilitation.
Free blood pressure screening will be provided. Visitors will also find information about the Queen Anne’s Emergency Center, which provides medical care 24 hours a day, every day, near Grasonville.
Cholesterol testing will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. A lipid profile, which requires fasting for ten to twelve hours, will be available for a $10 fee; a basic cholesterol screening with no fasting required will be offered for $5. Cash payment is due at the Chesapeake Heart Walk.
