Stevensville, Maryland: –The Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee’s (SECAC) annual holiday party will take place on Saturday, December 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Centreville Elementary School, located at 213 Homewood Avenue in Centreville.
The annual holiday party is a free social opportunity for families with children, who attend Queen Anne’s County Public Schools and who receive special education services, to enjoy holiday-themed activities in a sensory-friendly, accommodating environment. Siblings and all family members are invited and welcome to join in the fun! The party will feature holiday-themed crafts, games, music and stories; all activities are optional. Additionally, Santa will be available for photos. Holiday-themed snacks and refreshments will also be provided.
Queen Anne’s County (QAC) Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC) is committed to ensuring the provision of quality services to students with disabilities ages birth to 21 by working collaboratively with families, community, school staff and other professionals to provide a forum to discuss issues related to and advocate for positive changes in special education in Queen Anne’s County Public Schools. SECAC hosts a monthly meeting and new members are always welcome. Parents and caregivers of children who attend Queen Anne’s County Public Schools and who have an IEP or 504 Plan are encouraged to attend the meetings, as well as administrators and educators, community leaders and partners, service providers, and those interested in special education services and on local issues relative to the provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) and the achievement of students with disabilities.
The holiday party is free, and open to all families of children who attend Queen Anne’s County Public Schools, and receive special education services, have an IEP or 504 Plan.
