St. Michaels’ Senior Recovering After Devastating Car Crash

A St. Michaels High School senior remains in critical condition at a Baltimore trauma center after an accident on April 7 on state Route 33. Elizabeth May Marks, 17, is in critical, but stable condition, Cindy Rivers, spokeswoman at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center said. Maryland State Police said Marks’ 2011 Mazda 3 struck the back of a tow truck stopped on St. Michaels Road waiting to turn left on Wales Lane. The driver of that 1987 custom Ford F350, Roy Owen Dixon, 25, of St. Michaels, had the truck’s turn signal on, police said. Dixon did not need medical treatment, while medics had Marks flown to the trauma center.
