Sts. Peter & Paul and Youth Coalition to Host Battle of the Bands for Victims of Japan

Saints Peter and Paul High School and The Youth Coalition of Talbot Partnership for Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Prevention will be sponsoring a Battle of the Bands entitled “Jam for Japan”. The event is scheduled for May 6 from 7:30 to 11:00 p.m. at the Avalon Theatre. All proceeds for this event go to Catholic Relief Services to help the victims of the Tsunami in Japan.

Tickets are $10 prior to the event and $12 at the door and can be purchased at Tammy’s Cool Things or Studio 2.  Bands include “I Turn the Tide”, “The Stellar Life”, “Call Me Mercy”, “Outram”, and “In Median Res”.

The project was initiated by a group of seniors from Saints Peter and Paul High School, who contacted the Youth Coalition to co-sponsor the event. The Youth Coalition is part of the international Youth-to-Youth program, a research-based community effort that encourages and supports drug-free youth. The programs stress youth community development and personal growth.
