A Baltimore man is now being held without bond after cashing two forged checks at two branches of The People’s Bank two weeks ago. Twenty-six-year-old Jamison Bergman managed to cash checks at the Spring Avenue and Washington Avenue branches in Chestertown. He then reportedly tried to cash a third check at the Millington branch, but reportedly left after tellers became suspicious. Total value of the checks was more than $3,700 for which Bergman now faces forgery and theft charges.
