On Friday, October 24, 2014, from 7 to 9 a.m., Easton’s 32nd Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Tidewater Inn in Easton.  This year’s breakfast will feature Geoffrey F. Oxnam, Kelly Rose Hargrove, and Joe Gamble as guest speakers.

Geoffrey F. Oxnam is the Vice President of Operations for Easton Utilities and an active member of the community. He currently serves on the Shore Regional Health/UMMS Board of Directors, Maryland Broadband Cooperative board of directors, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore board of directors, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum board of governors, and is a member of the Leadership Maryland Class of 2010. Mr. Oxnam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts and a Master of Business Administration degree from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. Geoff, his wife Talli, and their two children Charlotte and Nicholas are members of Christ Church Easton.  While he grew up going through the motions, Geoff’s exploration into faith blossomed in Easton and is the central framework for his roles in the community.

Kelly Rose Hargrove is the Area Director for Young Life in Central Delaware, having been on the staff of Young Life for 3 years.  She is a 2010 graduate of Towson University Graduate and a 2006 graduate of Easton High School. She did not grow up in a church-going home, but became a Christian through the ministry of Young Life and her Young Life leaders Barry and Krista Tolton, who showed her the depths of Christ’s love throughout her high school career. She went on to lead Young Life while attending Towson University and then moved to Delaware following her graduation to work with Young Life. She continually gets to share the gospel and her walk through life with high school and college-aged friends. He parents John and Nancy Hargrove currently reside in Saint Michaels, MD. She also has three older sisters, one nephew, and one niece.

Joe Gamble is currently a Lieutenant with the Maryland State Police where he has served for the past 27 years.   He is currently the commander of the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit and commander of the Criminal Enforcement Division for the Lower Eastern Shore.  Joe, who after winning the primary vote in June is running unopposed for Talbot County Sheriff.  He was the president of Easton High School’s Support Our Sports for many years and continues to coach lacrosse at EHS.   Joe has been married to Mary Gamble for over 25 five years.  Joe and Mary met while they attended Towson State University. In his sophomore year while playing on the Towson Football team, a teammate invited Joe to attend an Athletes United for Christ meeting.  Joe and dozens of other young men who had little to no faith were impacted by the message.  Those meetings coupled with the Christian example that head coach Phil Albert set, led Joe to a relationship with Christ.  He went on to lead the outreach after graduation before being accepted in the Maryland State Police Academy.   Joe and Mary are longtime members at the First Wesleyan Church in Easton where he serves as a trustee.    The Gambles have four children.

Tickets to the breakfast may be purchased at Sear’s in Easton, the Easton Town Office, or the Chamber of Commerce beginning October 6.  The cost is $12 a person and seating is limited.  For further information, contact Kathy Ruff at 410-822-2525 or visit the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Facebook Page.
