Come celebrate the bounty of over 20 varieties of heirloom tomatoes being grown by Dogwood Farm. Varieties such as Black from Tula, White Tonesol, Peach, Pineapple, and Thai Pink Egg, vary in shape, color and flavors, as the names suggest. Dogwood Farm won the USDA Award for best small farm in the country in 2003. The Festival kicks off with a reception at the Inn from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 12. The cost is $10 per person.
On Saturday from 3 to 5 pm there will be a tomato tasting. If you have never been to one, it is just like a wine tasting. You will be amazed at the differences in flavor profile. Tomatoes will be available for you to purchase and take home. Later that evening, enjoy a Skipjack cruise with wine and cheese. The cruise price is $35 per person. A special wine dinner featuring local Maryland wines from Boordy Vineyards is offered for $75 (excluding tax and gratuity).
