Do you remember hearing the Canada geese in October? The call of the Canada geese as they return is a part of us, an expression of what it means to live on the Eastern Shore. To celebrate the arrival of the geese, RiverArts’ October show will be a “Call for the Wild”.
This show will emphasize the natural beauty of the Eastern Shore: the land, the creeks, the bay and the marshes, just outside our back doors. Curators Terry Willis and Nora Carey invite artists to exhibit their art which depicts what this natural beauty means to them.
Works of art focusing on natural settings, free as possible from the imprint of civilization is the emphasis of this exhibit. Art for this show should be an expression of the elemental wildness around us. The show is open to all artists (members and non-members) and will include all media.
Check in for the art show is at RiverArts, 315 High Street, Suite 106, on Sunday, September 29 from 1-3 PM and Monday, September 30 from 11AM to 2PM. Artists may enter up to two pieces of art, though, depending on the number of entries, we may only be able to hang one piece. All entries must be for sale. Entry fees are $8 for one work, $15 for two for members; $15/$25 for non-members. Pick up for the show is Sunday, October 27 from 1-3PM or Monday, October 28 from 11AM to 2PM. The show’s opening will be from 5-8PM on First Friday, October 4.
