COMPUTER CLASSES OFFERED FOR SENIORS
Grasonville Senior Center announces computer classes for the Spring Session through Chesapeake College Continuing Education and Workforce Training Program. These courses are designed for senior adults, aged 60 or better, with little or no computer knowledge.
Instructor James Adams will offer Beginner Computers, Advanced Computers, and Internet Basics.
Beginner Computer Class is offered Wednesdays March 12 – April 16, 10:00am – 12:00pm. This class for the inexperienced student will introduce parts of the computer and their functions, terminology, and proper use of the keyboard and mouse. Class will begin with the Start Menu and progress with each persons comfort level.
Advanced Computer Class is offered Wednesdays March 12 – April 16, 12:30pm – 2:30pm. This class will discuss to use of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as social media websites. Practice exercises will include creating letters in Word, budgets in Excel, and presentations in PowerPoint. In addition, the class will learn to create profiles, post photos, and contact friends and family members on social media websites.
Internet Basics Class will discuss the internet and its advantages. Students will learn to use internet browsers, search engines, and create a Google email account. Students will also learn how to safely search online items of interest to them.
