A former private school principal from Maryland’s Eastern Shore has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing two girls when they were students. Thirty-nine-year-old Lowell Sydney Litten Jr. pleaded guilty on November 18 to a continuing course of conduct of sex abuse of a minor and second-degree sex offense. Queen Anne’s County Circuit Judge Thomas Ross sentenced Litten after hearing from relatives of the victims. The girls were students at Eastern Shore Junior Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist school in Sudlersville, and were 14 at the time of the abuse. Litten told the judge that he wakes up in a cold sweat every day and wishes he could take back his actions. His lawyer said Litten may face additional charges in Delaware.
