Fisherman’s Crab Deck Open For Season

Fisherman’s Crab Deck opened for the season on Monday, April 16, 2012. Live music is scheduled from 5-9 pm every Thursday for their famous happy hour called “Thirsty Thursday”. Happy Hour is held at the bar weekdays to include Friday! Customers will enjoy reduced drink prices on draft beer, house wines, rail drinks and the very popular Orange Crushes (a drink made with fresh squeezed oranges right at the bar) as well as select half priced appetizers. Other music is scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Acts will include local musicians to include solo guitarists, duo and trio groups as well as some steel drum performances by the very talented Orlando Phillips.

Due to the success of the “Dueling Piano” shows last year, the Crab Deck is proud to announce that there will be five live performances this season. Each “duel” will feature two renowned pianists who play on tour nationally. The event involves the audience in singing, clapping and shouting out requests. The pianists can play everything from collegiate anthems and NFL theme songs to oldies to present day songs. The first “duel” is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th from 7 to 11 pm and will feature Jacob Wolfson with special guest Bryan Rogoff. Jacob is an impressive comedian and musician. Although he earned a bachelor and masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in classical trumpet performance, Jacob has been touring and entertaining people by “dueling” against other pianists since 2006. This is a great event to attend to hear some music, jokes and lots of laughter.

Information on upcoming music and events will be posted on the Crab Deck’s facebook page and website (www.crabdeck.com) throughout the season.

Fisherman’s Crab Deck Proudly Announces the Opening of “Cappy’s”

Fisherman’s Crab Deck proudly announces the opening of “Cappy’s”, a new outside Tiki Bar located at the water’s edge on the east side of the existing restaurant. Weather permitting; Cappy’s will be open for the rest of the season Thursday through Sunday starting at 4 pm. Live music is scheduled on these days and will also be outside weather permitting. Cappy’s offers tropical libations and a “weekend bar bites” menu featuring some of the most popular appetizers from the regular Crab Deck menu. On Thursdays, Cappy’s will offer the same locally famous “Thirsty Thursday” specials as the main bar does, which features discounted drink prices and special marked half priced appetizers.

The live music scheduled for the season is a mix of local musicians and bands as well as three scheduled performances of “dueling pianos” starring national touring pianists. These “dueling piano” shows are a newer trend of entertainment mixing music with comedy and encouraging crowd interaction. Fisherman’s Crab Deck is excited to be one of the first venues in the area to host such entertainment. The first show on Saturday, July 9th will star Tattoo Slover and Jimmy Porter from Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar at National Harbor.
