Hospice of Queen Anne’s Hosts 10th Annual Gala

OC 016 (400 x 300)The place to be on Friday, February 22, 2013 is the Hospice of Queen Anne’s 10th Annual Gala at Annie’s Paramount Steak and Seafood House in Grasonville. The “New York, New York” themed event begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a seated dinner of lobster tail and steak, dancing to the live music of the entertaining Retrospect, and exciting live and silent auction items!

Also on tap during the evening is the announcement of the recipients of the Philanthropist and Junior Philanthropist of the Year awards, both being recognized for their exceptional contributions to Hospice of Queen Anne’s.

Since 1985, Hospice of Queen Anne’s has been dedicated to supporting and helping people through the difficult and challenging time of living with a terminal illness, or recovering from the loss of a loved one. They are able to do this largely because of the continued and faithful community support through events like the Hospice Gala and other giving opportunities.

Hospice of Queen Anne’s also counts on support from area businesses. Swan Cove Day Spa and Salon and Coconut Joe’s are the Big Apple Sponsor for this year’s Gala.

Last year, community support made it possible to offset $207,000 in unfunded room and board expenses in the Hospice Center and over $94,000 of the non-reimbursed grief care programs and services. Care is given based solely on need, regardless of a person’s ability to pay.
