Summer is a popular time for family reunions. If your family reunion is being held outside at a park or someone’s backyard, suggest that relatives bring their dogs. They are truly part of the family, which is why we see them on our Christmas cards! Make sure that it is a pet friendly park, don’t forget water and water bowl, bring something to clean up their mess and lastly, make sure you keep your dog on a leash. Becky Groff along with her company Inspired Events, raised enough money from the 2012 Chesapeake Bay Wine Festival to purchase the 3rd Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for Queen Anne’s County. AED number 3 was given to Phil Johnson and Gina Carbone of the Indoor Sports Arena (ISA) located 325 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville.
Emergency Medical Services Chief, Scott Haas has played a significant part in this cause by helping Groff choose the right AED and training ISA’s staff the proper way to use it. The AED was purchased also with the help of Jill Hite of Keep the Beat CPR and First Aid Training. Groff’s goal is to continue to raise funds to purchase more devices for the community.
