Former Easton town councilwoman Moonyene Jackson-Amis negotiated a deal with a Baltimore man to take two busloads of people to the Obama inauguration. The buses never came and the people, including Jackson-Amis, were out the money. Last week, Rodney James pleaded guilty to one count of theft under $500; however, if he repays the money, the charge and judgment may be thrown out. James owes just over $1,300. James claimed to be an agent for Dillon Bus Company, but published reports say Dillon denied that. Dillon says James did book the buses, but cancelled them the night before the inauguration.
