Sex Offender Bills Sent to House

The Maryland Senate sent two more sex offender bills to the House of Delegates. One measure would conform the state sex offender registry to federal standards and the other brings back Maryland’s Sexual Offender Advisory Board, which was set up four-years ago, but never convened. The House passed its versions of the bills last week. Cracking down on sex offenders has been a strong, bipartisan effort this session after eleven-year-old Sarah Foxwell was allegedly abducted by a registered sex offender on the Eastern Shore and found dead on Christmas Day.
