Free Foreclosure Solutions Workshop Offered by MidShore ProBono

Queen Anne’s County residents facing foreclosure can once again turn to the Mid Shore Pro Bono office in Easton for help. In collaboration with Civil Justice, Inc, MidShore is offering a “Foreclosure Solutions Workshop” on Thursday, May 5 from 5PM to 8PM at the Talbot Senior Center, 400 Brookletts Ave, in Easton.  This event is being supported by the Foreclosure Prevention ProBono Project through the auspices of the ProBono Resource Center of Maryland.

A significant number of residents in Queen Anne’s County and elsewhere on the mid-shore are still facing the loss of their homes as a result of the current recession. The MidShore ProBono office has been helping victims of foreclosure since the beginning of the recession by guiding them to the proper resources, helping them deal with lenders to remodify their loans and by offering free legal support when necessary.

During the Foreclosure Soluionts  Workshop updated, current information and resources for borrowers in difficulty will be made available to county residents. Representatives from ProBono will also be on hand to help those struggling with burdensome mortgages to work with their lenders and avoid foreclosures. In addition, Mid-Shore Pro Bono is offering free legal consultations with a pro bono attorney to attendees who pre-register. In order to pre-register participants are asked to call Andy at 1- 800- 3961274.

Participants will be asked to bring all paperwork related to their current and former mortgages, including the loan application, settlement paperwork, lender statements and default notices. They also need to bring to the workshop all foreclosure notices or threats of foreclosure received by them. And last, but not least, it is important to bring a written monthly household budget.
