Anne Arundel Medical Center is providing pediatric surgical tours for families with children scheduled for surgery.
The tours prepare the child (and caregivers) for their surgery with an age appropriate and fun inside view of what will happens on the day of surgery. On the tour families will:
Tour the surgery preparation area, operating room, and recovery areas.
Learn what to expect on the day of surgery by becoming acquainted with all the medical areas and equipment.
Learn about anesthesia.
The tour includes a “break-out” session for parents to ask questions while children make a craft. Parents can attend without their children; however, tours are geared toward school-aged children ages 3 to 13.
Tours are held the first and third Sunday of the month, from 3 to 4:30pm. Registration is required. Visit askAAMC.org to register and watch our YouTube pediatric surgical tour video. For more information call 443-481-5555.
