Adobe Lightroom for Organizing, Editing, Much More

image003Photographer Don Dement brings a two-day workshop on Adobe Lightroom to the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council’s Centre for the Arts. The instructor will explain how to easily organize, improve and recover, search large collections, display, send and print digital image files.

The class covers Adobe “Lightroom” (v. 3 or 4), the most popular tool for photographers with many images. Topics will include operation and settings for Library and Develop modules whose powerful editing can replace Elements, working faster and better, or include any external editor. Students will install Lightroom on a laptop (Windows or Mac) and follow along in class. The instructor will hold interactive discussions and work on problem solving using various examples. Dement has taught digital photography and editing with high acclaim at Anne Arundel Community College, Chesapeake College, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and at the Centre for the Arts since 2002. He is an award winning Annapolis area professional photographer and instructor. His work includes land and seascapes, maritime and social events, real estate, portraits and weddings, architecture, fine art and online gallery presentations. The class will be held on Saturday, December 15 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville, MD.

The class covers the use of Adobe “Lightroom” (version 3 or 4) which is gaining growing popularity among photographers who have thousands of photos on file. Topics include operation and settings for Library and Develop modules whose powerful editing can replace Elements, working faster and better, or include any external editor. Version 4 (at 1/2 previous price) adds video editing, making photo books and geotagging.

Install Lightroom on a laptop (Windows or Mac) and follow along in class. The instructor will hold interactive discussions and work on solving problems. Organizing Digital Photos Comes to Centre for the Arts

Photographers both amateur and professional should be able to rely on their computers to get their digital photos when needed. Photographer and instructor Don Dement invites digital camera users to learn how to store and search their device to reliably retrieve images and make back-ups that will last. For those with volumes of photos, efficient and easy storage is invaluable. The one day workshop is Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and held at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville, Maryland.

This is an interactive class that works through problem solving and will cover CD/DVD, hard drive and cloud storage. There will be discussions and demonstrations of various programs to help, including Lightroom and free organizers. Students should have some familiarity with operating a PC or Mac.
