Each year we offer scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Queen Anne’s County.  Scholarships are available annually to students who will major in fine arts and who exhibit outstanding abilities and promise, as well as high academic achievement.

Established in 1989 to assist high school students in Queen Anne’s County who will be continuing their arts education; this scholarship fund is supported through donations from past and current Council Board Members.  An additional scholarship is awarded each year in memory of Clara Simmons.  This memorial scholarship was created by Clara’s daughters, Ellen & Elizabeth as a tribute to their mother’s love of art and literature.    Clara was a devoted volunteer at the Centre for the Arts after her retirement from public service.

Applications are reviewed by an independent panel of local artists. Applications are available on line at www.queenannescountyarts.com or by calling the Council at 410-758-2520.   The application deadline is May 1, 2015.
