St. Baldrick’s Foundation event to raise money for lifesaving research
Stevensville, MD / Sunday, March 9th 2014 –The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at Ram’s Head Shore House at 1pm on Sunday, March 9th, where local residents will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers!
Why all the shaved heads? Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, supporters and donors are needed to continue the battle against this devastating disease.
This is the first event of it’s kind in the Mid-Shore area. The volunteers will be shaved by Sport Clips Kent Island Manager Pam Wygal and 3 of her stylists. Ram’s Head Shore House at 800 Main Street, Stevensville has graciously donated the use of their facility and will be providing a live band to entertain the masses. We are currently seeking volunteers who will “Brave The Shave”. If you aren’t able to come get a haircut that day we are also seeking monetary donations and donations of goods/services that will be used for a silent auction; both of which are tax deductible.
To donate or register for the event contact your local event organizer or visit the event webpage at:
