Join the Talbot Chamber for breakfast as we celebrate the 24th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  The Hugh Gregory Gallagher Theatre (HGGT) will perform a monologue on a local Chamber member, who made strides toward dispelling stigma, despite his struggles with life challenges.

A talk back session will conclude the performance. The audience is invited to share their comments, stories, and ask questions about HGGT, the monologues and plays, HGGT performers and the actor.

Enjoy a full breakfast selection served buffet style beginning at 8am.

Cost is $10 for Chamber members; $15 for non-members.

The Hugh Gregory Gallagher Theatre, a nonprofit tax exempt corporation, raises public awareness of disability issues and discrimination in our society through dramatizations of real-life and fictionalized experiences. Our powerful, entertaining and insightful plays on persons with physical, developmental and mental disabilities, and others discriminated against based on race, ethnic origin or sexual orientation, help reduce prejudice and stigma.

“Never Quite, Never Flinch” a monologue on the life of William Hollis, a “walking quadriplegic” who broke his neck in Marine Corps training and became an attorney performed by Dave Marmelstein. This is Marmelstein’s first performance for HGGT. He had television roles as Homicide Interrogator, Captain Will Fritz in Capturing Oswald, a Military Channel production and as John Rossi, a paranormal investigator, in an episode of When Ghosts Attack, an Investigation Discovery production. Dave also had roles in House of Cards, a Netflix production. He was featured in commercials for Pfizer, Erickson Retirement Community and Anchor Savings Bank. He and his wife Joanna were dancers in Wedding Crashers and appeared together in Syriana, National Treasure 2 and Shooter. He recently appeared in various character roles in Tred Avon Players production of “Leaving Iowa”.


Cross Court Athletic Club Showcases New Tennis Renovations at Talbot Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting

The Talbot County Chamber of Commerce joined Cross Court Athletic Club in hosting an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Club’s recent renovations to its tennis facility.  The finished renovations include resurfaced courts, new indirect lighting for four state-of-the art indoor tennis courts, along with a new ceiling to improve court play and the acoustics.  The enhancements are part of a three-phase project to renovate the Club’s health, fitness and recreational facilities during the coming year.  For further information, call Sandi Whitehurst at 410-822-1515 or visit www.crosscourtathletic.com or follow the Club on www.facebook.com.
